We, Arimpex, include your data, such as name, address and telephone number, in a database/data file. Your data is used for the execution of agreements concluded with you, such as the purchase of advertisements or user-friendly site functionalities, or for social media and e-mail marketing purposes.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a piece of text given by a web server to a visiting browser, so that the browser can return it on a subsequent visit. The cookie is anaddition to the HTTP specification. This HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol) is used by everyone who visits a website: it manages the communication between a web server and a browser. However, it was not designed to treat consecutive page visits as a single whole. As a result, it is not possible to reload data or settings on a subsequent visit. To make this possible anyway, the cookie and set-cookie headers for HTTP were introduced in 1997.

How do cookies work?

Contrary to what politicians sometimes claim, cookies themselves are not small programs and not files either; technically speaking, nothing is stored on the visitor's computer by the web server. The browser can decide that entirely on its own. Ultimately, cookies are often stored as a file, but a web server cannot force a browser to actually store cookies or return them on a later visit.

A cookie is always tied to a specific domain or subdomain. Cookies are only sent back to the same domain from which they originated. This ensures that only Arimpex's servers receive the cookies that were previously obtained via Arimpex. Also via javascript, only Arimpex can access the cookies placed by Arimpex.

An important point about cookies is that they can be received with every HTTP request, and that all known, relevant cookies are sent along with every request. This also applies to the requests used to retrieve images, javascript and css files for a web page. Naturally, domain control is also applied in that case.

First-party cookies

Cookies that belong to the domain you are visiting are called first-party cookies. When viewing this page, Arimpex's cookies are therefore first-party cookies.

Third-party cookies

It is possible that one of our websites contains elements from third parties. Well-known examples are embedded videos, advertisements and social media buttons. What are cookies used for?

Cookies make it possible to retrieve information from previous visits on subsequent visits. In practice, this is used, among other things, to keep track of the fact that you are logged in, that you have made certain settings, and that you have seen certain site elements before. Cookies that adapt the functioning of the site to your wishes are called functional cookies.

In addition, cookies can also be used to let the site know that a visitor has been to the website before. In this way, statistical data about the use of the website can be collected. What exactly does this information involve?

  • Personal information such as name, address details, e-mail address or phone number that you provide when you use one of Arimpex's services;
  • Technical information collected through the use of cookies or web logs. This information gives insight into how you use our websites. The information Arimpex collects in this way may include the date and time of your visit and use of our services, the pages you have visited and the time you spent there. Like most websites, we also track your URL to see where you came from, the browser you use and your IP address.

What does Arimpex do with this information? We use your personal information such as your e-mail address to send updates about our product and to inform you about promotional activities of Arimpex. We also use your personal information when we need to reach you if this is necessary in relation to your account.

We only send you mailings if you have given your consent by signing up. You can indicate at any time that you no longer wish to receive future mailings from Arimpex. Facebook Advertising

What does this mean, you might think… We use the standard version of the Facebook Pixel to show you personalized advertising from one of Arimpex's brands, Botentekoop.nl, Boten.nl, Botenbank.nl or CampersCaravans.nl, and third parties on the various Facebook platforms. For this purpose, we provide Facebook, via the Facebook Pixel, with information about your activities as a user on one of the aforementioned brands, as well as your other personal data such as your Cookie ID. Mailexpert – email marketing cookies

The second type of cookie enables Arimpex to link the information from this cookie to your personally identifiable information that you provide when you visit our site. We use this information to properly tailor our marketing materials and marketing efforts. Some partners of Arimpex (advertisers) use cookies. Arimpex has no access to, or control over, these cookies. To provide users with the best possible service, we link the information stored in cookies to personally identifiable information that you provide during your visit to our site. Through the automation system Mark-i, we send various automated mailings. These make it possible to respond to specific offers or interests.

Which cookies can others place when visiting a website of Arimpex?

Arimpex is a large community. Arimpex regularly places content from third parties. This is the case, for example, with the various social media buttons that make it possible to share posts via Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, email marketing and our blogs: Blog.Botentekoop.nl, Blog.Botenbank.nl or Blog.CampersCaravans.nl.

Cookies are also used when displaying advertisements. These cookies are used to measure how often an advertisement is shown and what interactions occur with the advertisement, such as clicking on a banner, the display of an advertisement, or the duration of your visit to our website. By placing such cookies, we can make use of a so-called frequency cap. This ensures that you are exposed to a certain advertisement a maximum of x times, so that, for example, you don't keep seeing the same video advertisement over and over.

Furthermore, advertisers often use a media agency to deliver the campaign on their behalf. In these cases, the media agency places cookies to measure and optimize campaigns.

Arimpex's advertising terms and conditions stipulate that cookies from advertisers and media agencies may be used to collect statistics. In addition, Arimpex grants limited permission to advertisers and media agencies to recognize you as a visitor and, on that basis, show more relevant advertisements. Because a great many parties in the advertising world work together, it is unfortunately not possible to provide a complete list of possible domains.

How can I refuse cookies?

Without cookies, it is nearly impossible for us to offer you, as a visitor, the best experience when visiting one of our websites. This has to do with analyzing statistics to determine how the site should look and for navigation, but also to determine which content is popular and what is actually not being read by our visitors.

In addition, as mentioned, we need cookies to display our advertisements. Without advertising revenue, it is not possible to keep the Arimpex sites accessible for free as they currently exist and to further develop them.

How long and where is my data stored?

Arimpex only stores your personal data if you have given us permission to do so and only for the duration that we consider truly necessary for communication with you. We set a limit that we will keep the personal data in our possession for a maximum of one and a half years if it turns out that you are no longer actively communicating with us.

Arimpex attempts to manage the data securely, so that hackers are discouraged from exposing it. We have also appointed a so-called Privacy Data Officer whose task is to take charge of and actively manage the data.

Data protection impact assessment (DPIA)

Arimpex does not process special personal data on a large scale and thus complies with DPIA legislation. This is a tool for identifying privacy risks of data processing in advance. And subsequently taking measures to reduce the risks. This tool is only necessary if:

  • Systematically and extensively evaluates personal aspects, including profiling;
  • On a large scale processes special personal data;
  • Systematically and on a large scale monitors people in a publicly accessible area (for example with camera surveillance).

For Arimpex, this DPIA is not mandatory because it does not pose an increased privacy risk for the individuals concerned (the people whose data Arimpex processes).

We collect and process personal data for the following purposes, including via the (mobile) websites operated by us:

  • For the establishment and execution of an agreement concluded with you;
  • To offer, deliver and adapt the agreed services, products and/or information to your needs and wishes;
  • To enable you to post and exchange information on one of the websites, or, if the website offers this option, to contact other users;
  • In the case of a paid service/product, to invoice. We never publish financial data on a website, nor is it made available to third parties for purposes other than performing the agreement.
